So today, as I love to dance, I will be doing a Dance Tag. This is just something I have made up myself but feel free to use it if you like :)
(I do not have credit for this image)
1. At what age did you start dancing?
I was 4 when I started dancing and I've danced ever since :)
2. What was it that made you want to start dancing?
Bit of an odd inspiration, but I was watching Lala off the Teletubbies do ballet on one of the episodes and turned round to my mam and told her that I wanted to do that :p
3. What styles of dance have you learnt?
Ballet, Tap, Modern, Jazz, Contemporary, Street/Hip Hop and a little bit of Musical Theatre
4. What style of dance is your favourite?
Tap
5. What kind of places have you danced in?
Two dance schools (first dance teacher retired when I was 12).
Theatres
Disneyland
University
6. How many performances have you done?
This is a super difficult question!!! Why did I pick this?!?!? Well I think I have been in about 18 pantomimes, 5 dance shows at my dance school, and I have also done about 6 dance shows at University as well as doing a dance show and the parade in Disneyland when I was 11.
7. Is dance something you would consider a career choice for you?
Well as I am on my final year of University studying a dance degree I think the answer to this is yes :p I can't think of anything else I want to do (other than write a novel) :)
8. How often to you dance a week?
Considering I'm on a dance degree you would have thought I would dance a lot more than I actually do at the minute but as I'm on 3rd and final year, there is a lot more theory work than there is practical. On average I would say I dance around 3 times a week not including extra rehearsals.
9. Do you have a favourite dance quote and if so, what is it?
Dancing is like dreaming with your feet <3
10. How many professional dance performances have you been to see?
Again this is a really difficult question, why do I put myself through this!!! :p Well I've been to see 2 different versions of Swan Lake, I've seen Beauty and the Beast the Ballet, I've seen Matthew Bourne's version of the Nutcracker, I've seen Phoenix Dance Company perform twice I think, I've seen Batsheva, I've seen Candoco, I've seen a solo choreographed by Joss Arnott, I've seen Matthew Bourne's Lord of the Flies, I've seen Othello by Frantic Assembly and right now that's all I can remember, so going off this I have seen round about 11 professional performances I think but there are probably more.
So that is a little bit about my dance background. Hope you enjoyed reading about it and if you dance yourself then feel free to answer these questions :) Also if you have any further questions about my dance background or you want advice on anything dance related then write them in the comments below :)
