August 2015 Favourites

Hello Everyone!!!

It's time for me to share everything I've been loving in the month of August!!! There have been quite a few things this month so lets get started :)

Favourite Book

The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien

This gave me the biggest book hangover of the year!!! Everything about this book, the writing, the characters, the songs, the scenery etc. I absolutely loved!!! I gave it 5* on Goodreads :) To read my full review click here.

Favourite Stationary

Diary

This is going to be super handy for all of the dates I need to remember and now that I have started my teacher training, I have so much that I need to remember!!!

Weekly Planner

This is great for when you only want to remember the close upcoming events. I love how this is only for the week and so you can fully concentrate on getting everything in the next week done before starting to think about all of the other bits and bobs you need to sort it further weeks :)

Favourite Event

Starting my Teacher Training

For those of you that don't know, I've wanted to be a dance teacher for as long as I can remember :) And over the last week I've been doing my teacher training :) I'm loving it so much and so if you want to find out more about what I've been up to, click here

Favourite Homewear

New Bedding!!!

I absolutely love this!!! It really matches all of the white furniture I have in my room but also gives the room a bit more colour :) It was £14.99 from B&M Bargains :)

So that's it for August and I will speak to you all in September!!! Also let me know in the comments below what you've been loving this month :)

Top 10 Disney Songs

Image from Google

Hello You Lovely Lot!!!

As I've been watching loads of Disney films this week and I haven't done a Disney post in a while, I thought I would tell you my Top 10 Disney Songs. I've also not chosen more that one song from each film. This has been super difficult as there are so many amazing songs but I've narrowed it down to 10 and here they are!!!

10. The Princess and the Frog - Almost There

I think this film is so underrated; I absolutely love it so if you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it :)

9. The Little Mermaid - Part of Your World

Who doesn't love The Little Mermaid, a classic!!!

8. Aladdin - A Whole New World

Again, another classic; if you haven't seen this then what are you doing!!!

7. Hercules - Zero to Hero

How awesome is this song?!?!? I watched this film again this week and love it every time :)

6. Tarzan - Son of Man

This film has to have one of the best soundtracks of all time. It was super difficult to narrow it down to just one for this film.

5. Pocahontas - Just Around the Riverbend

What a beautiful song. I definitely need to rewatch this film sometime soon :)

4. Tangled - See the Light

This has to be one of my favourite Disney films. It's just so magical and this scene made me want floating lanterns at my wedding :) (No I'm not getting married any time soon :p)

3. The Lion King - I Just Can't Wait to Be King

The Lion King is a lot of people's favourite Disney films and another one which in my opinion has one of the best soundtracks out of all Disney films :)

2. Mulan - I'll Make a Man Out of You

I remember going to Disney on Ice and seeing this being performed. It was definitely one of my favourite sections of the whole show :)

1. Beauty and the Beast - Beauty and the Beast (Tale as Old as Time)

And of course my favourite song has to be this :) It makes me cry every time and is my favourite film of all time :)

So there you go!!! Let me know in the comments below what you're favourite Disney songs are and we can see if we have similar opinions :)

I'll speak to you all again next Sunday!!!

Questions Nobody Asks Tag

Image from Google

Hello You Lovely Lot!!!

Today I thought I would do a tag post as I haven't done one in a while :) So today's tag is 'Questions Nobody Asks'. I found this tag on YouTube from February of this year but I really liked it so thought I might as well give it a go. Not sure who created it but the questions are really fun to answer :)

1. Do you have a nickname?
Not so much anymore although I still sometimes get called Tink :)

2. When driving/in the car, do you listen to the radio, tapes, CD's, or nothing?
A bit of both really. It depends what kind of mood I'm in and what I actually want to listen to.

3. Are you a window person or an isle person?
A window person, although if I'm with my sister I don't usually get a choice as she steals the window seat every time -_-

4. How do you relieve stress?
Either read or watch a film usually, but also going for a walk or a run is great as it clears your mind, especially for me as I have miles of seafront to walk along :)

5. What is your favourite childhood TV show?
From when I was really young it would have to be Tots TV but from when I was a little older, Tracy Beaker :)

6. When you were a little tot, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Well when I was really little, I wanted to be the magic bag from Tots TV.....yes I wanted to be a bag.....and then when I got a little older I wanted to be a vet until I realised I'm terrified of needles and I would cry for weeks if I had to put an animal down. Eventually I decided I wanted to pursue a career in dance in some way.

7. What was the best prank you ever pulled off?
This is actually really hard to answer as I was never really a prankster and I'm still not now. I know I definitely would have pranked my sister a lot but I can't remember what the pranks were...sorry!!!

8. If you could have dinner with any three people, who would you choose?
Dougie Poynter from McFly, Ian Somerhalder (Damon from The Vampire Diaries), and Mila Kunis. Love them all!!!

9. If you could get back one item of clothing you once wore, what would it be?
Ok, so I had this multicoloured jumper up until a few years ago that I've had most of my life. I called it my ill jumper as it was always what I wore when I was poorly :)

10. If you could choose any actor/actress to portray you in a movie, who would you choose?
I think I would choose Melissa Rauch (Bernadette from The Big Bang Theory), as she can portray ditsyness very well ;)

11. If you could play any instrument, what would you play?
Probably piano. I've always wanted to learn an instrument and I've tried guitar but failed miserably, but piano sounds so beautiful when played well :)

12. If you could hear anyone in history give a speech, who would you hear?
Michael Jackson. He is the King of Pop!!! Who wouldn't want to hear the King of Pop give a speech?!?!?

13. If you could live in one city for the rest of your life, where would you live?
I actually really like where I live, but if I was to pick somewhere else, probably Paris :) And Disneyland is there so that's just a bonus!!!

14. If you could make any fictional character come to life, which would you choose?
Anne from Anne of Green Gables. She is such a positive person and everyone needs positivity in their lives :)

15. When you were a little tot, what did you dress up as for Halloween?
Usually a witch, but I was also a devil at some point :)

16. Do you sleep with your closet doors open, or closed?
Closed!!! Who sleeps with them open?!?!?

17. If you could be any cartoon character, who would you be?
Belle from Beauty and the Beast. She loves reading, I love reading, it's meant to be!!!

18. Do you take the shampoo bottles and conditioners from hotels?
Duurrr!!! And when I was in Disneyland Paris we stayed in one of the Disney hotels and there were these Mickey Mouse head shaped soaps; we had to have those!!!

19. Have you stolen a street sign before?
Erm nope.....why would I want a street sign?

20. Do you sleep with your sheets tucked in, or out?
Well the bed sheet wraps around the mattress, but my duvet I don't tuck in as I have nowhere to tuck it in on my bed.

21. Would you rather be attacked by a big bear or a swarm of bees?
A swarm of bees. I have more chance of running from them than I bear I feel.

22. Do you always smile for pictures?
Either smile or pull some weird face, no pouting here!!!

23. Have you ever peed in the woods?
Most likely when I was little as we went camping a lot and there's not always a toilet nearby, but more recently, nope.

24. What is your size bed?
A double :)

25. What was the best concert you ever attended?
Now this is difficult!!! Which McFly concert was the best?!?!? Probably the first one I went to which I think was Keep Calm and Play Louder as I was right on the barriers :)

26. What is your song of the week?
Well something I've been obsessed with recently is Ellie Goulding's cover of Take Me To Church :)

27. Do you still watch cartoons?
Maybe.....sometimes, but so what!!! The Powerpuff Girls are awesome!!! :p

28. When was the last time you wrote a letter to someone on an actual physical piece of paper?
This was in my second year of uni, so last year, and that was to my friend Shannan who also has a blog which you can check out here :) Oh, and it was on Harry Potter paper, just to make it even cooler ;)

29. How many languages can you speak?
Unfortunately only one (English) but I do know a little bit of French as well :)

30. Do you believe in ghosts?
I am quite into that kind of thing and I would love to go on a ghost hunt :) Yes I think I do believe in ghosts :)

31. What was your first concert?
Busted, when I was about 9 maybe? And it was awesome!!!

32. Cheetos or Freetos?
I don't actually know what Freetos are, so I would have to say Cheetos :)

33. Can you curl your tongue?
Yip :)

34. Ever won a spelling bee?
We don't really have those in England, but I did really good with spelling tests at school :)

35. Do you own a record player?
Not personally, but we do have one downstairs :)

36. Who would you like to see in concert?
Well I would have loved to have seen Michael Jackson, but unfortunately that won't happen now :( But I've wanted to see Lady Gaga for a while now as well :)

37. Sugar Cookies, or Snickerdoodles?
Not a clue what Snickerdoodles are, so I would have to say Sugar Cookies :)

38. Can you swim well?
Definitely not. I got saved by a lifeguard on my 11 birthday in Spain in a water park because I couldn't swim all the way to the ladder to get out of the water after I'd been on a slide :/

39. Are you patient?
Erm.....not really no :/

40. DJ or Band at a Wedding?
Probably band, if it was McFly, even better ;)

41. Ever won a contest?
I won loads of contests when I went on caravan holidays when I was younger haha!!! Some of them included a hula hoop competition, and who can hold their breath for the longest, which probably wouldn't be allowed now.....

42. Do you have kids?
Nope, and it's never been a priority for me to have them.

43. Do you want kids?
Like I said above, it's never been a priority for me. But I do want two sausage dogs ;)

So that's it for the questions!!! If you would like to answer them then please share them with me in the comments below as I would love to read your answers to them :)

And I will speak to you all next Sunday!!!

Smoothies

Image from Google

Hello You Lovely Lot!!!

As it's summer (I live in England so in my case, slightly warmer weather), I thought it would be nice to share with you some of my favourite smoothies. And I'm not organised so these aren't my own photos.

So here we go!!!

Image from Google

1. Breakfast Smoothie - This varies slightly, but the ingredients that stay the same are, 1 banana, and a reasonable amount of oats (I estimate), and the ingredient that changes is the type of milk I add. Sometimes I use Hazelnut Soya Milk, sometimes Coconut Soya Milk, and sometimes Vanilla Soya Milk. I like all of these but my favourite one is probably the vanilla.

Image from Google
2. Apple and Banana - Now you have to be careful with any fruit smoothie that includes banana as it tends to overpower all of the other flavours if you add too many. I tend to use 2 apples and 1 small banana for this smoothie as there aren't a lot of flavours involved.

Image from Google
3. Summer Fruits - I get a box of mixed summer fruits from the frozen section in Morrisons but you can get them from any supermarket I would have thought. As well as adding a reasonable amount of these (again I estimate) I also put in 1 small banana, milk and vanilla or white ice cream. The milk helps crush the fruit down to a liquid and the ice cream makes the smoothie nice and cold.

Image from Google
4. Raspberry and Mango - Raspberries are my favourite fruit and Mango isn't far behind that so this is definitely one of my top smoothies for the summer. As well as the raspberries and mango, I also again add milk and vanilla or white ice cream.

Image from Google
5. Black Forest Fruits - This is similar to the Summer Fruits smoothie but some of the berries are different, for example in the Summer Fruits mix there are raspberries, whereas in the Black Forest Mix there are blackberries etc. Add milk and vanilla or white ice cream and that's all there is to it!!!

Its better to use liquids like milk rather than fresh juice as they are full of sugar, so even though they are 'meant' to be healthy, they aren't that great for you.

I hope this helped you get some ideas for what smoothies you could make and I hope you are having a fantastic summer!!!

Speak to you next Sunday!!!
