My Cousin's Wedding

Image from Google

Hello Everyone!!!

Like I said the other day when I posted about Seaton Deleval Hall, today's post will be me sharing some of the photos from my cousin's wedding that was held last weekend in Fife in Scotland.

We stayed in a hotel and the views from it were just incredible!!! Scotland is such a beautiful place so if you haven't been I highly recommend it.

My cousin looked absolutely gorgeous and it was so nice to see her and the rest of my family that live up in Scotland as I don't get to see them much. The cake was also fantastic as it had guinea pigs on the top of it as both my cousin and her 'now' husband love them and have some of their own.

It was also my boyfriend's first time going to Scotland so he was way to excited when he seen the views we had. He now wants to go to Edinburgh as well so I will be going there hopefully in the near future. I also want to go back to Edinburgh Zoo as it's just fantastic there :)

Anyway, back on the topic of the wedding; on the day we had a four course meal...yes four course!!! The first course was a plate of fruit including melon, watermelon, and berries. The second course was lentil soup and was so delicious that I also helped my sister eat hers. Then the third course was the main course and was chicken with mashed potato, roast potato, and a selection of veg. The final course was cheesecake but as I'm coeliac, I obviously couldn't eat that, so instead I had meringue that also had pear throughout it. It was so good that I need to try recreate it at home!!!

My boyfriend is a super sweet tooth so when the sweet stand was revealed, it took him approximately three seconds to get to it. He certainly wasn't going to risk all the sweets being eaten before he got a bag!!!

Both of these events happened after the ceremony as it was held at 2:00pm. The room for the ceremony was decorated beautifully and my cousin's dress was just perfect. It's the first wedding I've been to so when they were doing their vows I started to feel very emotional as it was just so beautiful.

At the end of the day there was the reception where we had drinks and food...yes...more food!!! It was so nice to catch up with family I haven't seen for a while and of course, have a dance on the dance floor!!!

So here are some of the photos from the day. I hope you enjoy!!!

Seaton Deleval Hall

Hello Everyone!!!

You might be wondering why I didn't post on Sunday and that was because I was in Scotland for my cousin's wedding. This post though is something that I've been meaning to share with you all for a while and just haven't got round to. Myself, my sister, my dad, and my boyfriend had a day out in the summer at Seaton Deleval Hall. This is in the North East of England for those of you that aren't aware and it's just too beautiful not to share.

If you want to find out about the building's history then click here.

I thought today that I would share some of the photos I got there as they are just so beautiful.

So as you can see from these photos, this really is a beautiful place and great for taking photos. I would highly recommend this as a day out as it is just fantastic.

If you've been already then let me know in the comments below what you thought of it :)

University Advice

Hello You Lovely Lot!!!

As the time has come where more of you are off to University, I thought I would give out my advice on University life. This is specifically for those of you who are moving away from home into accommodation as that is what I did and so I can hopefully help any of you that have decided to take this path :) I also have a little bit of advice on the course side of things as well though so if you would like to know what I have to say about that, then keep reading :)

A lot of people worry like crazy when moving away to University and really, there is no need to whatsoever. Some of the things people worry about include not having any friends there, not liking the people they are living with, not knowing whether you've picked the right course for you, and the typical one, not having a clue how to cook and thinking you are going to live on super noodles for the next few years.

Well worry no more because I didn't know anyone at University living with me, there was of course some people in my building I didn't like as much as others, and I am possibly one of the worst cooks ever, and I've survived my whole 3 years of University.

If you are worried about who you are going to be living with, just think, everybody else starting the same year as you is in exactly the same boat. You aren't the only one panicking. If you are a bit lost when you get there and you aren't one of those confident people who would run up to anyone and start a full on conversation about how hopeless you are that you can't find your way round University or even find your own room, then don't worry, I can guarantee some 2nd or 3rd year will see you and realise you are a little lost fresher who needs assistance. Not everyone at Uni is scary and mean!!!

If you find yourself not liking the people you are living with, there are always alternatives. Your Uni may let you change rooms or buildings, or failing that, your room is just somewhere for you to keep your things and sleep, you do and will make friends with people from other accommodation buildings as well. In my first year I actually spent more time in the building two along from mine, instead of in my own building.

If like me, you can't cook to save your life, then fear not!!! People sharing your kitchen are there to help, even if they are also a little bit hopeless when it comes to cooking. Between all of you, you will be able to keep each other from starving. Somebody you live with will be able to cook, its more than likely really. And if not, then there is always the Takeaway around the corner until you work out how to bash together a mean spag bol ;) Also, you will have a microwave in your kitchen. That will be your best friend throughout your whole uni life, trust me :p

As for your course, this is something that can be really difficult to decide on. Do I do something that I already know I can do and really enjoy? Do I choose something I know absolutely nothing about but have a huge interest in? For me, I've known from an early age that all I ever really wanted to do was dance. However, I'm still not 100% sure on where abouts in the dance sector I want to be. My sister on the other hand, who has just moved to university yesterday, has chosen something she doesn't really know anything about but has gained a huge interest in over the last year or so. And that is Criminology. The complete opposite really to what I do. She asked herself whether she has chosen the right course and I could only really say one thing. You don't know until you try it out. And if you don't like it, then there is always the option to transfer to something else.

I hope that these few points have helped all of you that are starting University this year and are feeling a bit worried about it. If you have any questions about Uni life that I haven't already answered above, then by all means, leave them in the comments below and of course I will answer them as best I can for you :)

Opinions

Image from Google

Hello Everyone!!!

Today I would like to talk to you about 'Opinions'. Something happened last week that made me really think about this topic and thought it would be good to discuss.

I have recently read the book Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. I'm sure you've all heard of this book as it's been massively hyped and because of this I went into it with high expectations. Unfortunately I just didn't understand the hype. The idea was fantastic but it was all just too slow for me.

A family member has also read this book and it is one of their favourite books of all time. I listened to what they had to say on it and understood where they were coming from. I then began to tell them my thoughts and instead of listening, they questioned everything I had to say.

It felt to me that they were telling me my opinion was wrong and would only argue all of my points I made.

Now this is only a little situation that happened of course but we come across this in life all the time. Why is it that some people don't accept that everyone is entitled to their own opinion? A lot of people do accept that, but there are also so many that decide if someone has a different opinion to them about something, their opinion is wrong.

This is something I feel quite strongly about and find very aggravating when it happens. I understand that some people feel so strong about their opinion that they don't like to believe there is any other take on the situation, but I definitely think it is important to share opinions and maybe you could actually learn something from this.

To me, I believe everyone's opinion matters and everyone should be able to share their opinion even if this causes debate, Debate isn't a bad thing, it can actually be quite fun, but when it starts turning into an argument, that's when it gets frustrating.

If you've been through a situation like this recently, feel free to share it in the comments, and also let me know what you think about this topic.

I'll speak to you all next Sunday :)
